East Aurora, NY: Roycrofters, 1906. First Edition. Paperback. Very good. 8vo. 8"x6". Sewn wraps. All volumes in very good condition with minor shelf wear to wraps, and several have unopened pages. All are complete as issued with portrait pages laid in, except Rossetti/Siddal and Nelson/Hamilton which have their portraits bound in (a common binding error).
This is a collection of 8 antique books hand-printed by the Roycrofters, the celebrated arts and crafts community of East Aurora, NY. These are from the 1906 Great Lovers series (Vol. VIIII and XIX). (McKenna 132)

Josiah Wedgwood and Sarah Wedgwood (January, 1906)
Dante and Beatrice (March, 1906)
John Stuart Mill and Harriet Taylor (April, 1906) (damp stains to wraps)
Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Elizabeth Siddal (July, 1906) (portrait bound in)
Balzac and Madame Hanska (August, 1906) (ad pages loose and laid in; chip to bottom right corner of wraps)
Fenelon and Madame Guyon (September, 1906)
Ferdinand Lassalle and Helene von Donniges (October, 1906)
