About This Item

Hurst & Company, S.a. (ca. 1911) . Acceptable. This is the children's book that inspired the immensely popular Dotty Dimple series of the 1860s through WWI. The author was called the Dickens of the nursery. 200 p., clean and unmarked, but the many blank end pages have damp stains, including the front end page an inscription dated 1911 and frontis. ill. Gutters are cracked but volume square. Boards are bumped and scuffed, with damp stains on back, but there is an v ery charming pasted-on picture of a blue-eyed little girl with short curls tied with an enormous pink bow, sampling the contents of a red, white and blue bucket of ripe cherries.
