NY: Duell, Sloan & Pierce, 1949. (1st edition). Hardbound. VERY GOOD-. Tight, bright, clean and square. Light age soil to exterior page edges and endpapers. Claret cloth covers with gilt lettering. Softened spine ends. Dust jacket is present and unclipped but age soiled with rubbed folds and tattered top and bottom edges. Lending library stamp on first free page, but no other library markings. "Eleven generations of Marshals lie buried within a hundred miles of my birthplace, Mt. Airy., North Carolina, a mountain town near the Virginia border.
