New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1901. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. Among the best known books of animal stories by Seton-Thompson (1860-1946) who, in addition to illustrating his books, was a popular naturalist in his time and one of the founders of the Boy Scouts of America. This copy is signed on the front flyleaf by Seton-Thompson, who added a little drawing of a pawprint. Below the autograph is a pencil description of how the book was acquired and signed. Octavo. Original green cloth binding, with gilt and dark green stamping. The front hinge is just starting and still quite sound. The spine is moderately sun faded, with some lesser fading to the front board; else very good.
