London: Faber & Faber, 1946. First edition, 1946. Hardback. 180pp. Dust jacket in a protective cover. Autobiographical work that relates the author's adolescent loss of his faith (which he was to recapture later). It is the story of a child and a raw, idealistic youth - acutely aware of surroundings and people. Leslie Paul (1905 - 1985) was an Anglo-Irish writer who founded the Woodcraft Folk, an educational movement for children and young people. Six wood-engravings by Reynolds Stone with one repeated on the dust jacket. Book in good condition. Boards a little rubbed with some wear to extremities of spine. Dust jacket poor. Price clipped. Generally rubbed and soiled. Edge wear with some small areas of loss. Corners chipped and some holes to spine which is a little fragile and discoloured.
