Tidy ink owner name (date on other side) at top of front free endpaper, tape stain along fore margin of the verso of the rear free endpaper; near fine otherwise. Dust jacket has large chips along bottom of front panel, shallow chips across head of bit sunned spine and upper inner corner of front panel; fair, flap price intact.. Signed by the author. Laid in is Wain’s preface to the 1960 American edition of this, his second novel. "LIVING IN THE PRESENT has always been the least financially successful of my novels. In England, it was damned by reviewers and the sale has never risen above a mere trickle." Difficult to find signed.; Signed by Author. .
