A most attractive first edition/first printing in Fine condition in alike dust-jacket with minor edgewear. A card from the publisher detailing a "near-disastrous" fire that occurred in the Edgar Rice Burroughs storeroom on Saturday, May 3, 1958 is laid in. Blue cloth with red lettering on the front cover and spine. The illustration on the white dust-jacket and five interior black-and-white plates are by John Coleman Burroughs. Zeuschner 280; "Once again, the Prince of Helium, the master swordsman of two worlds, brings us a story of high adventure on the dying planet that he loves so well. Here, as of yore, he crosses swords with some of Mars' most redoubtable swordsmen." (from the dust-jacket). The tenth novel of Barsoon; B & W Illustrations; 8vo; [8], 9-317, [3] pages .

Synopsis

Llana of Gathol is an Edgar Rice Burroughs science fiction novel, the tenth of his famous Barsoom series. It consists of four stories that were originally published in Amazing Stories in 1941 (details see below). The first collected edition of Llana of Gathol was published in 1948. It is the penultimate book in the Barsoom series and the last to be published during Burroughs's lifetime.
