Llanthony Abbey. Tinted Lithograph Ca 1840. Sheet and print size 335mm x 230mm. Founded in the 12th century, this was the first Augustinian priory in Wales. The lithograph shows visitors to the Abbey and also residents of the homestead which was established from the west range by Colonel Sir Mark Wood at the end of the 18th Century and sold in 1807 to the poet Walter Savage Landor. Cropped to edges. A bright and clean print from a scarce view point.
