London : Edward Lloyd, 1896 A good copy in the publisher's dark maroon decorative cloth binding with 31 colour printed plates. The LLoyds Natural History series covers British Birds in 4 volumes. Vol I contains among others, warblers, tits, crows, nuthatches and chaffinches. The binding has gilt banding to the spine and boards to give a half leather style appearance. It is in good condition with darkening and pulling to the spine, and a little marking on the back board. There is light corner and edge-wear which includes a couple of slight indentations to the edge of the back board. Original endpapers. Contents slightly shaken. Plates and text generally bright and clean. Some plates lack tissue-guards, and where present, the guards tend to be very browned or spotty.
