Without dust jacket, Pictorial Boards by Edgar Holloway with 8 further illustrations to the text including frontis, four in colour. Light rubbing to edges, neat owners name to blank fep, light foxing to half title, otherwise very clean and free from foxing. Vaughan's partially biographical adventure story for boys set in the Lone Tree Lode in Colorado, about a young Welsh boy who is sent to sea under his Father's cousin's guardianship. On reaching America and fired by tales of the Wild West he runs away to seek his fortune. The story is told largely in the form of letters the boy writes home to his mother.
