The first edition of this work.Illustrated with fifty-one photographs on plates. Collated, complete.Author Margaret Cotter Morison was stationed in Kashmir in the early twentieth century, alongside her husband. She provides an account of a summer spent boating, trekking and camping, and of visiting the Martand Sun Temple, Pahalgam hill station, Lidder Valley, Tarsar Lake, Gulmarg town, Sonamarg hill station, Wangath temple, Dal Lake, and other locations.With the former owner's inscription of 'J.E. Marshall' to the front free endpaper. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, otherwise externally excellent. Hinges strained, with front hinge a touch tender, and rear board firmly held. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with instances of some spotting and foxing throughout. Very Good
