Berlin, Germany: Fr. Schüppel, 1803. Original hand-colored engraving from Hortus Berolinensis Sive Icones et Descriptiones, published in Berlin, circa 1803-1816. [Great Flower Books, p.151; Nissen, BBI 2157]. Friedrich Guimpel (1774-1839) was an eminent German botanical illustrator and professor at the Berlin Academy of Arts. Image/sheet size is 10 inches by 8 1/4 inches. Our Guimpel prints are in very good+ condition: clean, bright, and crisp-with minimal toning and/or foxing on some plates. . First Edition.
