• 1 Cabinet Card circa 1876, 4-1/4 x 6-1/2 inches with 4 x 5-3/4 inch photo mounted on card. Printed at bottom of card London Stereoscopic Compy Copyright. Reverse copy: London Stereoscopic Company 110, 106 & 106 Regent St. W. and at 54 Cheapside, E.C. Photographers to the Queen the Prince of Wales and the Royal Family. etc

The London Stereoscopic and Photographic Company was founded in 1854 by George C. Nottage, the London Stereoscopic and Photographic Company was one of the most successful photographic companies of the nineteenth century. Selling photographic equipment and producing immense quantities of images, over 100,000 topographical photographs were advertised alone in 1858. Located at the following addresses: 1864-66: 54 & 53 Cheapside E.C. 1864: 110 Regent St W. 1865 - 89 108 & 110 Regent St W. 1867 - 1908 54 Cheapside E.C. 1876 - 1890 108,110 & 106 Regent St W. 1886 - 1895 2 Bow Churchyard E.C. 1891 - 1908 106 & 108 Regent St W.

• 3 CVD's of Lord Dufferin:

#1- 2-1/2 x 4 inches. Circa 1860. Printed at bottom, John Watkins, Photo Parliament St. Reverse, John Watkins Photographer to the Queen The Prince of Wales & The Ex Royal Family of France 34 Parliament Street, London S.W. John Watkins was a photographer. Chiefly known for his portraits. John Watkins was active at 34 Parliament Street, London S. W. from 1851-1875. Watkins had had been a manager for Richard Beard at Parliament Street until 1851 and then took over the studio.

#2- 2-3/8 x 4 inches. Circa 1883. Printed at bottom Barrand & Jerrard 96 Gloucester Place Portman Sq. W. Herbert Rose Barraud was a noted portrait photographer who had studios in London and Liverpool. He produced cabinet photographs of many famous Victorian statesmen, artists, and members of the aristocracy. Between 1873 and 1880 he had a partnership, Barraud & Jerrard, with George Milner Gibson Jerrard. Barraud's studios were at 96 Gloucester Place, Portman Square in 1883.

#3- 2-3/8 x 3-7/8 inches. Circa 1885. Printed at bottom Lord Dufferin.

• Ontario's Farewell to the Earl of Dufferin: Lord Dufferin's Farewell Address to the Canadian Citizens. Ottawa. Free Press, 1878. First Edition. Original wraps. Near fine. From the Ottawa Free Press of Oct. 21 1878. 15 p. 20 cm. Portrait. Staple bound booklet. Mild fading to edge of covers. Incl. names of the delegates signing the address and at the presentation. Speech was in reply to the joint Address of the Municipal Corporations of the Province of Ontario, Sept. 5th 1878, at the Citadel, Quebec.

Lord Dufferin, in 1872 became Canada's third Governor General of Canada in 1872. His six-year tenure (1872- 1878) was a period of rapid change in Canadian history. During his term, Prince Edward Island was admitted to Confederation, and several well-known Canadian institutions, such as the Supreme Court of Canada, the Royal Military College of Canada, and the Intercolonial Railway, were established.
