(9 x 6.7 inches).16 colour plates, each with a printed tissue paper guard, by Charles Brock (4 scenes from the story), and Charles Brittain (12 views of Exmoor and environs). A Fine copy in a fine leather binding by Bain of London. Half dark blue morocco, spine with raised bands, ruled in gilt. Compartments tooled and lettered in gilt. Blue cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Loosely inserted is a hand written letter from J. G. Bain, on company headed notepaper dated Christmas 1925, presenting this book to a customer. An interesting and beautiful edition with the plates showing not just characters from the tale but also views of the towns, villages and views around Exmoor that act as a backdrop for the novel.:
