E.P. Dutton & Co, 1905. Hardcover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. This is an Original 1905 printing of this famous book by Louis Wain. The book has a great color illustration of a Comical Cat holding a Diploma on the front cover. The book was printed in Bavaria - This is a hardcover book in just about Very Good condition - the covers are in great shape and the binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. The pages are clean and unmarked - there is a 1 inch closed tear on the page that faces the title page - the pages are a little browned with age but no other tears and no chips. The front cover is in great shape with some light soling and light edgewear. Overall, this old book is clean and solid with minimal signs of age. I have placed a fresh mylar jacket on this old book. We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!

Pages are chipped, toned with age, and disbound. Light blue floral pastedowns. Child's writing in pencil captions the color frontispiece. Previous owner's name on ffep. (8 x 10.25 ins.) BOOK INFO: Former owner has pasted in 8 square clippings of cat comics by Wain onto rear fep. Book illustrated by Louis Wain in B&W, some with an added single color. 'Clifton Bingham (1859 - 1913), the author of numerous verses for children's picture books in the late Victorian and Edwardian period, was better known as the writer of the lyrics of many popular sentimental songs, the most famous of which was Love's Old Sweet Song.'
