FIRST EDITION inscribed November 1903, printed by Edmund Evans at the Racquet Court Press, 16mo, 74 x 74 mm, 3 x 3 inches, buff cloth with black and blue illustration of 2 kittens, lettered red on upper cover, lettered black on spine, top edges not coloured, 87 stiff card pages printed 1 side only, plus 2 pages of adverts, our title No. 2 in the list of 4. 20 delightful full page coloured illustrations of cats and kittens, most dressed, each facing rhyming couplet. Neat inscription on front endpaper, otherwise a very good plus clean tight copy of a scarce Wain title. Copies of this title turn up with 1904 printed on the title page and top edges blue, these also have the imprint of the New York printer H. B. Claflin Co. Others undated like ours sometimes have Treherne's street address, ours does not. The British Library and the National Library of Scotland hold undated copies with accession dates of 1903.
