The interesting and entertaining story of Henry Moon, who came from England and turned up looking for work at a farmer's house in Nova Scotia, and soon marries the farmer's daughter.. He becomes a horse dealer in Saint John, New Brunswick, and is jailed for stealing. Sentenced to hang, he delights in removing his shackles. He tells fortunes to his hearers in prison. The author credits Sheriff Walter Bates with bringing Moon to her attention in his writing. An absorbing story. 177 pp..
