Corner crease on title page; gift inscription on dedication page. 129, plus [30] pp. plates. 13" x 10". Oversize book. A monograph on the Bronze Age wind instruments called lures (also "lur" or "lurr") that are without finger-holes and which are of Nordic origin. These artifacts were found mostly in the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, though other examples are also cited which were found in Germany and Latvia. Illustrated with photographs, plus 30 plates.
