Colchester, London and Eton: Spottiswoode, Ballantyne & Co., 1944. Book. Good. Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Cream cloth with title in brown on front cover and spine. Condition: Good, with general light shelfwear and light soiling to covers. Light foxing to front endpapers. The front endpaper bears the previous owners name and the date Christmas 1945 with the bookplates of two presumably later owners on the front endpaper, the earliest being the bookplate of the distinguished amateur archaeologist C.E.Bean of Sherborne. 147pp. 4 b/w illustrations. This book was published posthumously by friends of the author, and consists of reprints of articles in Dorset and Somerset journals and magazines relating to the borough of Lyme Regis printed between 1923 and 1943. The period covered by the articles is 1288 to 1859..
