Rider Haggard, with illustrations by G. P. Jacomb Hood. First edition. Bound in contemporary quarter calf with marbled boards. Written by English novelist, Sir Henry Rider Haggard, who was primarily known for his works of adventure fiction, including 'She' and 'King Solomon's Mines'. Haggard was an extremely prolific writer, producing over fifty novels, three short story collections and a number of non-fiction works during his lifetime, the majority of which were set in far-off locations, such as Africa. 'Lysbeth: A Tale of the Dutch' is a historical novel set in the Netherlands during the era of William the Silent. Illustrated with twenty-six plates by George Percy Jacomb Hood. Collated, complete. In a quarter calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, very good, with slight rubbing to the extremities and the occasional mark. A little fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with the odd spot, mainly to the first and last pages. Very Good
