One of 50 copies privately printed, octavo size, 10 pp. This volume is a eulogy, given in Brookline, Massachusetts by Frank W. Cushwa of the Phillips Exeter Academy in 1933; it was privately printed by the Grabhorn Press for Mrs. M. F. Loewenstein. The eulogy mourns Fred Loewenstein, who died when he was just twenty-three; he was a student at the Phillips Exeter Academy, and the text demonstrates the love and sadness felt at his passing.
___DESCRIPTION: Quarter white parchment paper with grey paper boards, gilt lettering on the spine, fore- and bottom edges uncut; hand-set Franciscan type, English handmade paper, octavo size (9" by 5.75"), pagination: [i-ii] 1-5 [6-8], one of 50 copies privately printed, unnumbered. In a slipcase covered in grey paper.
___CONDITION: Overall fine; the covers clean, the corners straight and unrubbed, the binding tight with solid hinges, the interior clean and bright, and free of prior owner markings; some light foxing to the parchment back else fine. The slipcase is very good plus, strong and sturdy, clean overall with a few spots of soiling, sunning to the edges, and there is a split half-way up the back portion of the slipcase, however, it is still strong.
