There is an element of fantasy and magic in the book, but fantasy and magic are always present in the house of a writer of fairy tales, and Macduff shares this secret world. A departure from Alison Uttley's normal children' & country books;- title now quite uncommon. The copy offered by us for sale has the added attribute of being warmly inscribed byAlison Uttley in ink to the half title page to a fellow lover of scottie dogs and dated July 1954. Good/Good ( Book- Moderate foxing to preliminary pages and 78 to 88 have rust like marks diminishing in intensity from 82-83 outwards probably from ingression of iron filings at some time.
