About This Item

Simon & Schuster, 1939. Later Edition. Pictorial Boards. Very Good+. A nice copy of a later edition of the classic children's story with the scarce dustjacket. Book cover and endpapers are pictorial. Book is in very good condition, with some rubbing on the corners and edges, and ends of the spine are a little loose, but the cover art and text are clean and bright. Jacket has original price ($2.95) intact, the creases are wearing and there are a few large chips at the edges. The book "Sunshine" is mentioned on the dustjacket back panel and since it was published in 1950, this book was probably published around that time although 1939 is on the copyright page.

Synopsis

A Caldecott Honor Book Madeline truly needs no introduction. An enduring classic,  Madeline  continues to enchant readers more than seventy years after its first publication. Nothing frightens Madeline—not tigers, not mice, not even getting sick. To Madeline, a trip to the hospital is a grand adventure.
