About This Item
Toronto: Thomas Allen. Good+ in Very Good dust jacket. ©1959. Hardcover. 154 p. 20 cm. Copyright date only. Sound and square binding in blue, pebble-cloth covered boards. Foxing along the text block edges. Lightly faded to top edges of the boards. Rectangular piece cut out along the top of the front free endpaper (likely previous ownership information). Both free endpapers have some offsetting from jacket flap. Otherwise the inside pages are clean, bright and unmarked. The dustjacket has some edgewear, heaviest at the spine ends and corners. One 1.5" closed tear and creasing. The spine is slightly darkened. Still attractive overall. One of a series of children's stories based on the Maggie Muggins CBC radio / television children's program from the late 1949s thru early 1960s. Like the beloved Anne of Green Gables, Maggie is also a red headed and pig-tailed charmer. .
