About This Item

Falstaff Press, Inc, 1934. Hardcover. Acceptable. Poor condition. "The Illustrated Edition of Magica Sexualis of which a limited number number have been Privately Issued by The Falstaff Press." Translation by Raymond Sabatier. 1934. Purple cloth covered boards, with gilt design and title. Gilt lettering and design on the spine is completely faded. The purple cloth boards are stained, faded, scuffed, and scratched. Front board is pulling away. The cloth on spine is worn through and splitting along the spine. Worn through at head and heel of spine. Worn through and bumped corner tips. Dirty, yellowed and stained text block. Boards are bowed downward at the corners. The hinges of the book are extremely loose, with the very first page of book loose and tucked inside the leaves of the book. We have placed a clear protective book jacket over the boards to offer a little protection. Paste down and end pages are illustrated and stained. Pages are damp stained, wavy and tend to be fragile. While book remains bound together, caution is advised when reading or flipping through pages, which are very yellowed and wavy. Book is filled with illustrations. It's seen its better days, but remains extremely collectible for subject matter alone and limited print run. 293 pages.
