About This Item

London: The Bodley Head, 1955. A first edition, first printing published by The Bodley Head in 1955. A near fine book without inscriptions, with some light spotting to the top edge. In a very good clipped wrapper with some light pushing and wear to the tips of the spine and to the edges. Small stain to the front panel of the dust wrapper, some fading to the spine and some handling marks to the rear panel. A very presentable copy. "The Magician's Nephew" is a fantasy novel by C.S. Lewis, part of "The Chronicles of Narnia" series. It explores the creation of Narnia, as two children, Digory and Polly, journey to different worlds through magical rings. They encounter a sinister magician and witness the birth of Narnia by Aslan, the great lion.

Synopsis

The Magician's Nephew tells the story of the creation of Narnia, and paves the way to understand how the rest of the series plays out.  We learn of the Sons of Adam and the Daughters of Eve, how the wardrobe came to be, and more. Digory and Polly are tricked into experimenting with magical rings by Digory's Uncle Andrew, and they are sent into the Wood between the Worlds.
