Unclipped dust jacket with a few chips and frays. The author's Utopian masterpiece; one of the outstanding works of 20th century European literature. Octavo. 212 x 136mm, pp.502 + final blank leaf. An excellent copy in rare condition from this Nobel Prize winner.

Synopsis

The Glass Bead Game is the last work and magnum opus of the German author Hermann Hesse. Begun in 1931 and published in Switzerland in 1943, after being rejected for publication in Germany, the book was mentioned in Hesse's citation for the 1946 Nobel Prize for Literature.
