About This Item

New York: Atheneum, 1971. First American Edition. Hardcover in Dust Jacket. Near Fine Hardcover in a Near Fine Dust Jacket./Near Fine.

No Flaws or Blemishes but minimal shelf handling. The dust jacket has age-toning on the white of the rear panel. 8vo; 8.5 inches tall; 320 pages with an index; references and bibliography and illustrated with photographs, maps and drawings.. Holt dates the Risorgimento from the 1815 restoration of absolutism in the Italian states (rather than from the French Revolution) and sensibly ends it in 1870 when Rome was incorporated into the new Italian nation.
