Dust jacket shows edgewear; a few closed tears; rubbed; the $1.00 price on spine scratched out; clipped. Front flap of jacket has the publisher's rubber stamp stating that it is a "Cheap Edition" made from the original plates and is stamped with the price of $0.90. DJ in a clear archival sleeve. 271 pp. 8.5 x 5.75 inches. Translated from the original French by Eric Sutton. In a scarce Boris Artzybasheff-designed jacket. A novel set on a rubber plantation in the jungles of the Malaya peninsula. Henri Fauconnier (1879-1973) was a French writer and part of the Groupe de Barbezieux. In 1930, his novel Malaise won the Prix Goncourt, an award given to "the best and most imaginative prose work of the year.
