This short, easy to read book leaves a lot to be desired.Terri Cheney does not reveal a good picture of the truth of bipolar. She is a rich lawyer and single woman whose wealth and freedom afford her a unique escape from any real suffering that would affect someone with a family and normal middle class resources. Her story seems more suited to a woman who is highly irresponsible with severe depression. She does not describe suffering from mood swings (as goes with the mood disorder of bipolar) but rather she "suffers" from lust, risky sex, misery in her daily life, and severe depression with suicide attempts. She is difficult to relate to because the book lacks personal connections. It is hard to connect to her experience.
