Black cloth-covered boards, printed paper spine label, 8 7/8 x 5 7/8 inches, 183 pp. Book very good (modest soiling, top edge of book block; previous owner's name and date (1948), front free endpaper; otherwise, pages clean and binding strong and square). Dustcover good (substantial sunning of spine; 1/4 inch hole, spine; not price-clipped). Slipcase good (intact; rubbing and focal erosion, top and bottom aspects; modest sunning/age toning). "This edition, limited to 500 copies, contains a rare portrait of Thomas Wolfe and a twelve-page facsimile of a holograph letter by him, never before published, in which he discusses the play's purpose and meaning."
