About the author

Isaac Bashevis Singer (1904-1991) is the author of Satan in Goray, Gimpel the Fool and Other Stories, and numerous novels and collections of stories. Born in Poland, he moved to the United States in the 1930s and worked for years for The Jewish Daily Forward. His oeuvre has been translated into dozens of languages and adapted for radio, film, and theater. He also wrote profusely for children.
