Minor shelf wear to top and tail of spine. Strong binding, in very good condition. A Christmas-time story focusing on the concept of earthly delights vs. heavenly rewards, framed around an aging Mansion. Henry Van Dyke, Jr. (1852-1933) was an American author and clergyman. An avid writer of poetry and short stories, Van Dyke is best known for his poem, Time Is (For Katrina's Sundial), which was read at the funeral of Princess Diana. Elizabeth Shippen Green (1871-1954) was an American illustrator for children's books and widely circulated women's publications.
