No date. [ 1873].. Lithograph, handcolored, sheet size 14 5/8 x 21 1/2 inches. Overall toning to paper, dampstaining at left half of lower edge reaching to level of text lines, small foxed spot at lower right corner and tiny spot at upper left, image itself if clean and the color still bright. With a damaged text sheet. Now reclassified as Anas Penelope, the distribution of this duck covers "the whole of the northern and temperate regions of the Old World, from Iceland in the west to Japan in the east...In China, in India, and in Southern Europe it also occurs during summer as numerously as with us." .
