This copy was printed in Canada and as stamped on the FFFP, by Harry Latimer, a stationer in Hamilton, Ontario. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Fair; pages are very toned and fragile; light wear to head, tail, and tips. No DJ. Maroon boards and spine with blindstamped title on spine and decorations on the front board; title in gilt on front board. Internally clean. Internal hinges are sound and not split. 159 pp 24mo. This was a very controversial anti-Catholic book at the time of its publication. It was released during the time of high Irish and German Catholic immigration to the US and might have been a hoax to further enrage the anti-Catholic sentiment. There were doubts as well as to the author really having undergone what she claims or if it was really another girl's story from an asylum she was in as a result of a brain injury. Highly sensational at the time. A clean representable copy with a Canadian provenance.
