About This Item
Jacques Glenat, 1982. Very Good. First printing of this edition, April 1982, reprinting original stories from 1977. Limited edition, issued in slipcase (here lacking). Hardcover quarto, maroon cloth stamped gilt, 143pp, color throughout, French language. Pichard was a French comics artist noted for work in the 1960-70s, illustrating women in various stages of bondage, flagellation, intricate apparatuses, role-playing. Here, his trademark gothic look decorates a tales involving Marie-Gabrielle, always in the wrong place at the wrong time, in 19th century France. From the collection of Andrew J. Offutt, a science fiction, fantasy, erotica author noted for "Conan"-themed novels, wrote 100s of erotic novels as John Cleve, Turk Winter, John Denis, Opal Andrews, etc.; Winter was a name attached to his more violent novels, including the "Blunder Broad" comics series he produced w/ Eric Stanton, akin to bondage themes of Pichard. Very Good Plus, light rubbing & foxing, slight lean, some pp w/ Offutt's discrete ink edits to Pichard's illustrations. For the mature, consenting collector, recalling the erotic underground of Bishop, Eugene Bilbrew, Eric Stanton, John Willie. International shipping at cost.
