New York: Scribner, 1929. No "A" but bears first edition date of 1929 on title page. Hardcover. Good. No dust jacket as issued. Signed by author. Inscribed to George O'Connor, signed in 1942. Signed humorous card for Chaplain service laid in. A sketch apparently by Thomason laid in. Cover worn and soiled. Some pages roughly cut. Discoloration to.... Thomason, John W.. xi, 290 pages. 22 cm. Illustrations. This is a rare item with an inscribed title page, signed ephemeral item, and what seems to be a drawing by Thomason. Portions copyrighted by International Magazine Company in 1928 and 1929. Thomason died at the age of 51, after a brief illness. He has served in WWI, Cuba, Nicaragua and China. At the time of his death he was assigned to the Amphibious Training Command, Pacific Fleet, stationed at San Diego, CA. This may be one of the last of his books that he autographed! Illustration on page 4 not cited in list of illustrations; there are a number of uncited illustrations marking section ending or beginning.
