Exterior moderately soiled, very small tear in upper spine, corners slightly rounded. Prev. owner's inscr. on title pg; rear inner hinge paper split, but board firmly attached. Overall vg: contents clean, tight, plates bright & clear. 307 pp. 300 illus, some color: each plate is accompanied by a sketch w/ components of the arrangement identified and explained.

Four small paper lifts at top margin of title page, where portrait was once attached. DJ has modest edge wear. Comes in original cardboard slipcase, which is lightly soiled. White silk cloth lettered and decorated in many colors, with slipcase. The book is in fair to good condition with age-speckled covers and some chipping to the cover lettering, spine a bit darkened, good hinges, sound text block, protective tissues heavily foxed with some unobtrusive residue foxing to the margins of the plates, pages otherwise clean, small personal bookplate on blank page opposite the title page, no other names or markings. The slipcase is complete but with some breaks, wear and old tape marks, fair only, semi-functional but repairable.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair/Fair. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
