Green coloured boards with white coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper with silver, white and mint coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Black and white photograph of author to the rear fold over panel. Written by a great-granddaughter of Kate and Walter, this is the story of the Wauchope family. Migrating to South Australia in 1839 where Kate Wauchope, daughter, married Walter Komoll, son of German refugees. They had an enduring partnership, though terribly unsuitable and tempestuous, they eventually owned a boarding house in Kings Cross. The story spans two world wars, Russian Revolution, the Depression and eventually through to the author  their great-granddaughter. Rubbing to the back strip corners and to the lower book edges. A hint of age toning of the text block edges. Creasing of the dustwrapper bottom edges with rubbing of the panels. Fading and discolouration to the bottom end of back strip.
