The story of Maxwell Herbert Lloyd (Max) Bentley's (1920-1984) hockey career, from the early days in Delisle, Saskatchewan through his days in the NHL. One of the NHL's 100 Greatest Players, Max racked up 245 goals and 299 assists during his time with the Chicago Blackhawks (1940-1947), the Toronto Maple Leafs (1947-1953) and the New York Rangers (1953-1954). He was awarded the Lady Byng Memorial and the Hart Memorial trophies and helped the Maple Leafs to three Stanley Cup wins. Interior - Moderate browning to pages, one small dog-ear crease, corner crease and very small edge tear (archivally taped) on the title page, an archivally taped tear and some damage at the top of the last page at the hinge. Exterior - multiple creases on the covers, light lean to the spine, moderate edge wear, two small letters written in ink on the rear cover, moderate browning to the edges of the text block.. Soft Cover. Fair.
