London: John Murray, 1819. First edition, Second Issue. First edition, second issue with imprint on page 72. Half-bound in blue leather and buckram cloth with five raised bands and elaborate gilt embellishments on the spine. This book measures approximately 8.25" x 5.25", with 71 numbered pages.
This book is in very good plus condition. Gilt lettering and embellishments are bright and very well preserved. Minor scattered wear and light staining to the boards.
"Mazeppa" is a narrative poem written by the English romantic poet Lord Byron in 1819. The poem is based on a popular legend about the early life of Ivan Mazepa who later became a military leader of Ukraine.
