London: J & A Churchill, 1926. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. Second edition. Hardback, bound in green cloth with printed titling to spine and upper board. 19 × 12cm, xi +284pp. A book of ailments and medical or surgical condition, and how they may be successfully treated by massage and movements. The condition range from fractures and deformities to nervous and circulatory problems. For example, scoliosis may be treated with massage to strengthen the muscles and relieve pain, whilst gymnastics are used to re-educate the patient in regard to the upright position...(gymnastics here suggest things like "heave-grasp-standing" for chest expansion, and "back-kneading and massage plus hips-firm-stoop-stride-sitting". Condition: A very good copy with some spotted foxing to the prelims and page edges.
