Special Facsimile Edition; Demy 8vo; pp. [ii], 367, [4] advertisements, [1]; marbled endpapers, bound in full leather, raised bands, covers are brass-die stamped and edges gilded in gold, title lettered in gilt on spine, silk page-marker, fine copy. The facsimile was prepared from the 1812 first edition. The first book in American psychiatry, and indeed, the work that is generally acknowledged to be the first medical classic to be published in the United States.
