Original cloth with illustrated dust-wrappers; pp. 255, eight photographic plates including the frontispiece; apart from a few marginal flaws of the rarely seen wrappers, and light offsetting from endpapers, a very good copy. First edition.Elsner was the author of a number of travel books on the Mediterranean countries, including Morocco, Corsica, France, and Spain. In this book she visits the Basque provinces (four out of the eleven chapters), Crete, Palermo, Corsica, Majorca, Malaga, and Morocco.
