About This Item

Munich: Franz Eher Nachfolger GmbH, 1934. Early Reprint. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Very Good/Fair. Small 8vo. Pp. xxvi, 781, [10] of publisher's advertising. Frontis. portrait photo and signature facsimile with tissue guard. Title page states Zwei Bände in einem Band / Ungekürzte Ausgabe / 97 - 101 auflage [Two volumes in one, unabridged, 97th to 101st thousand.] With index of persons and subjects. Dark blue cloth, titles and rules stamped in gilt on the spine, swastika in eagle-borne wreath in gilt on the cover within blind stamped border, green topstain, text set in Fraktur: covers clean and square, light foxing to fore edge, light rubbing to cloth at gilt emblem on the front board. One leaf, pp. 147-148, crimped at the fore-edge margin, not affecting text.

In the two-color photo-illustrated dust jacket with blank rear panel and publisher's advertising on the flaps: top edge torn away through the author's name, chips to the bottom edge, edges rubbed and soiled, cover moderately sunned. An early edition of the jackass's infamous work. While the dust jacket is in rough repair, that it exists at all is remarkable. Now preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.

Synopsis

Mein Kampf, in English: My Struggle, is a book by Adolf Hitler. It combines elements of autobiography with an exposition of Hitler's political ideology. Volume 1 of Mein Kampf was published in 1925 and Volume 2 in 1926. Hitler began the dictation of the book while imprisoned for what he considered to be "political crimes" after his failed revolution in Munich in November 1923. Though Hitler received many visitors earlier on, he soon devoted himself entirely to the book.
