London: Edward Moxon, 1832. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 1832, Three Volume set, Vol 1: 360 pages, Vol 2: 399 pages, Vol 3: 436 plus advertisements. Publisher's half bound black leather over brown 'oil can' marbled paper, Attractive set showing uniform wear. Books are Very Good, Spine with 4 raised bands, title and volume number in gilt, light tooling in 3 compartments, showing rubbing and random wear, nice old armorial bookplate with stag head and crown on front pastedown of all volumes, edge wear and foxing to foredege, light wear to leather corners with some cardboard showing, all boards show rubbing into paper, binding secure with sound hinges, Volumes are 8.5 inches height by 5.5 inches in width. Foxing on preliminary pages, text pretty clean. Nice 3 volume matching set, biography of music historian Doctor Burney (1726-1814) by his daughter. Professionally shipped. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
