New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1875. Book. VG. Hardback. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hardbacks bound in blue cloth-covered boards with, gilt titles and black decorations; AEG (all edges gilt). Books have light edge wear with minor bumps at corners; formers owner's name and bookplates inside front cover; spine is sun darkened. Volume II has a small stain on the gilt edges. General Sherman's life and his memories of the Civil War. In a pocket, inside the back cover of Volume II, is the 30 x 46 inch map showing Sherman's Campaigns in the War. Pocket has a short tear and the map has tear in some of the creases. Volume I has 405 pages plus an ad for General Joseph's Narrative on Military Operations. Volume II has 409 pages plus 6 pages of ads for other publications..
