About This Item
Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Published for Irene Pilson, Southampton, 1984, first edition; 8vo, pp272; printed on coated stock and profusely illustrated throughout with old photographs; blue linen boards, titled silver on the spine and with a pictorial dust wrapper showing coachmen at the stables at Harefiled House; errata slip tipped in at the front and the book signed in ballpoint by the author on the front end paper; some very light discolouration of the dust wrapper but otherwise a very god copy. ... ... Bitterne is now a suburb of Southampton, towards the eastern part of the city. However, when the author was born there in around 1911, living there for the next 50 years until she and her husband moved to Curdridge, close to Winchester, Bitterne was a separate small town or large village.
