The binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. The pages are clean with no writing or tears. There is some foxing to the frontic piece portrait but otherwise clean. The title and copyright page both show 1898 as the only date making this a First Edition. This is definitely Not a former library book. The covers show some light soiling and light edgewear. This old book looks and feels great! We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!
