A four-page printed proposal from a group of University of California at Berkeley faculty members, in which "Nine Distinguished Members of The Faculty State Their Views" (Philip Selznick, Joseph Tussman, Josephine Miles, George Maslach, Owen Chamberlain, Henry Nash Smith, and Thomas Parkinson. Sponsored by Professors Henry Nash Smith, William Kornhauser, Sheldon Wolin, Charles Muscatine, Charles Sellers and David Freedman.

Stapled to a 16-page offset document encompassing the following writings: "The Berkeley Faculty, and Student Political Activity" (Charles Sellers, Professor of History); "Why Has The Berkeley Faculty Failed to Condemn Violations of The Law by Students" (Henry Nash Smith, Professor of English); "A Note on the Academic Senate's Powers and Student Discipline" (Robert Middlekauf and Irwin Scheiner, History Department); "Chronology of The Free Speech Movement Controversy on the Berkeley Campus" (John Masson Smith, Jr., Ph.D., Assistant Professor of History, Richard Bridgman, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of English); Propositions Introduced by The Committee on Academic Freedom at the December 8th Meeting of The Berkeley Division of The Academic Senate and Passed by a Vote of 824 to 115, 12/8/64" (Unattributed); Concluded by a two-page list of "The Regents of The University of California", each with their names, addresses and telephone numbers. An important historical document. Period.
